Ohuhu Official

Did you know that you could customize your shoes with your Ohuhu markers? Well, you can! And you’ll see, it’s extremely fun and amazing. All you need is a bit of imagination, your markers, and some white canvas shoes. (I’ll also be using a pencil and fineliners but this is optional )

The first step to customize your shoes is finding inspiration. What do you want to draw? I would definitely recommend you to sketch a few ideas on a sketchbook/sheet of paper and start building your color palette. This will help you have an idea of what your final result will look like.

Once you have your Idea, it’s finally time to start working on the shoes. Start by taking off the laces and recovering the areas you don’t want to draw on. Then, you can begin sketching. It may seem scary at first, but just imagine drawing on a regular piece of paper. Tips: Don’t press too hard on your pencil so you can erase it easily after.

When the sketches are finished, you can start the inking process. Inking requires some focus so make sure to take your time. You can use different five liner sizes to have a better result in the end. This part is not necessary, if you think your drawing will look better without being inked you can directly move to my favorite part, the coloring with Ohuhu’s Markers.

Since the Ohuhu alcohol-based markers are permanent, don’t forget to erase your initial sketch and pencil marks before coloring your drawing. The coloring part is the one I prefer, the Ohuhu markers work pretty nicely on the canvas shoes. You can layer, blend and mix your colors as if you were working on a regular paper. If you want more detailed explanations on how to use the markers properly, feel free to check this blog post and the others on the same topic. https://www.ohuhu.com/post/5-Tips-On-Using-Ohuhu-Alcohol-Markers Back to our drawing. Here are the main colors I used on these shoes.

Y2, Y3, YR33, YR2

BR1, BR2

WG01, WG3, WG4

GG1, BG3

120

These are colors from the 72 Ohuhu Brush Marker set, but bullet nibs markers work great too. When everything is finished, you can spray some waterproof spray and fixative so your drawing can resist to the outside weather. Finally, last little step put back the laces, remove the tape and VOILA!

I hope this tutorial was helpful and that you enjoyed it. Don’t forget that the most important is to have fun and express your creativity, you can use every color, draw everything you want on so much support, try to go out of your comfort zone and discover new things. You’ll not regret it!

Have a wonderful day!
