Amazing alternative to copics and prismacolors!!
April 13, 2019
+Feel great in the hand!
+Comes with a cool bag to hold them in!
+Lots of great color variations
-Colors often don't match the cap. Make a reference sheet!
-The nibs are not as good as copic brush nibs. They're on par with Prismacolors nibs though and cheaper.
-They can leak... One of my markers leaked a whole bunch :'( It's still working but even after capping it properly it spilled inside the cap.
-This might be me... But these suckers can be hard to hold LOL.
-Some of the colors aren't really useful? It might simply be me, but there are colors I NEVER use but then there are no middle shades to some other colors. (Like, there is a neon orange... But no super light purple or middle purple, just purple and dark purple...)
-Wish it could come with a colorless blender! It works with a Prismacolor colorless blender marker though.
-Definitely bleed a bunch, both over lines and onto the paper behind, especially when they're brand new. But new Copics do that, too.
All in all, I am SO IMPRESSED with these markers. I figured $30 on the 60 pack was not bad. I've used Copic Sketch and Ciao, as well as Prismacolor Markers. These are such an excellent and cheap alternative. I really can't recommend them enough! Just be sure to make a reference sheet with the colors and label them. All in all, a great kit for beginners to introduce them to alcohol-based markers and also for more experienced marker users who can't afford Copics! (like me...)
Like any alcohol-based marker, be sure to work quick while blending and also to use the proper ink for lineart, or else it will smear/bleed. Hope this helps and happy coloring!
