I have been trying to teach myself to draw/illustrate and wanted to get some alcohol based markers. Obviously Copic markers are the creme de la creme, and I did try some (and loved them), but simply couldn't afford enough since they are such a high end item. I had seen a couple of online reviews for these Ohuhu markers and decided to give them a try... after all they are less than one tenth the price of Copic markers (I only paid $35 for my pack of 80). I will list the pros and cons below. Please note a lot of the cons are in comparison to Copics, which is kind of like comparing an economy car to a luxury car... so take it with a grain of salt.
Comfortable in hand
No repeated colors (at least in the set I got)
Did not blend as well as Copic markers
No brush tip, only chisel and bullet nibs
Odd distribution of colors (18 Green, 14 Blue, 9 Gray, 8 Pink, 8 Purple, 6 Brown, 6 Orange, 5 Yellow, 3 Fluorescent, and only 3 Red)
I had two markers leak in route (and therefore explode color all over my hand when opening for the first time) so open carefully (see picture of purple finger)
Cannot choose colors (and it sounds like it is a random grab bag of colors)
Relatively undefined system for coloring (There is a pattern, but I couldn't quite flush out what it is)
Some of the caps were not quite accurate depictions of the color, but usually got you in the right family... The names were very misleading (see color swatches)
No refills (but really at this price not a big deal)
I don't think the neon colors are alcohol based... they are just highlighters
A quick note to those who don't know anything about alcohol based markers:
They will not work the same as Crayola markers (which are water based not alcohol)
They WILL bleed through a normal sheet of paper, the color WILL be visible on the backside (and even maybe bleed) even with heavy weight cardstock (what I used with my swatches), dedicated marker paper (what I used for my drawing) won't bleed with normal use, but is expensive and very translucent.
Not great for use by small children as they tend to stain.
There may be the smell of alcohol... because it is an alcohol based marker
